Paperless Quality System Advantech Advanced Manufacturing Services utilizes a paperless quality system which exhibits superior electronic: document handling, mail communications, development tools and user interface. The quality system has built-in databases geared towards the inherent requirements of ISO 9000. The databases are easily tailored in order to accommodate user specific methods of conducting day-to-day business. As a result, the information collected in the databases (E.g.: Non-conforming Material Reports (NCMRs), Corrective Action reports (CARS), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Calibration Maintenance Schedules, Work Instructions, etc.) are simple to manage and facilitate 3rd party ISO Registrar audits of collected data for confirmation of the company's continued compliance of ISO 9000 requirements. Advantech Advanced Manufacturing Services firmly believes in communication between all levels of the organization and therefore has created an extensive computer network. Employees are therefore continually on-line and subject to automated prompts for action from the paperless quality system database(s) (E.g.: review a proposed ECO, action on NCMR, etc.) Associated with the databases are automated Escalation Controls which are processes for sending email notification as critical activities are coming due or are overdue. For example, as the due date for a Corrective Action Request (CAR) is coming due, the assignee will receive an alert and alarm message. Three tiers of escalation mail messaging ("bubble-up" to higher levels of management) will be sent out if the assigned work is not completed. FRACAs Advantech Advanced Manufacturing Services has an established FRACAS system which is a closed loop failure reporting system, procedures for analysis of failures to determine cause, and documentation for recording action taken, as a result of non-conformances detected during various levels of Inspection and Test.
